About the group

The West Sussex Dystonia UK Support Group was started in 1993 and we are now twenty years on and still welcoming people into our meetings.

Over the years there have been many advances in the diagnosis of dystonia and we provide a welcoming meeting point for people who like to exchange information and find out more about their condition.

We have been meeting at the Chapel in Worthing Hospital, which is familiar to those who live locally, but we also have visitors from other parts of Sussex and Surrey who make the journey to attend. There is plenty of parking in the hospital grounds.

We try to invite guest speakers as often as possible and have had, in the past, a local dystonia consultant, a dystonia nurse, various alternative treatment and care organisations and members of the dystonia team from the  office. We also have a lively raffle, tea, coffee, biscuits and cakes. Most importantly, we value the interaction and the "not left out" feeling when meeting with others.
