Citizens Advice Expand Citizens Advice is a network of independent charities offering confidential, free advice. They help around 2.8 million people a year on issues covering benefits, work, debt and money, consumer, housing, family, law and courts, immigration and health. People with dystonia may face many issues like this as a result of their condition. We will support with our specific knowledge of dystonia while they have the expertise to deal with such a wide range of challenging areas.
Disability Benefits Consortium Expand The Disability Benefits Consortium (DBC) is a national coalition of over 100 different charities and other organisations committed to working towards a fair benefits system. The consortium used the combined knowledge, experience and direct contact with disabled individuals and carers, to ensure Government policy reflects and meets the needs of all disabled people.
Disability Rights UK Expand We are organisational members of Disability Rights UK and support their policy initiatives and campaigns. We work together to keep the dystonia community informed of their rights and up to date information and advice. We also signpost people to get the expert support they need from Disability Rights UK, especially regarding access to benefits, employment advice, educational advice and independent living.
Health Conditions in School Alliance Expand The Health Conditions in Schools Alliance (HCSA) is made up of charities, professionals and trades unions to ensure that children in school with health conditions get the care and support they need. Our involvement ensures that we are aware of initiatives and can enable parents of children with dystonia to engage through taking part in surveys and other work.
