Director of Operations and Development

I joined Dystonia UK in 2019 following previous management roles in retail operations. During my time in the retail industry I oversaw the operations of a multi-million-pound family owned childrenswear business and introduced a French children’s brand to the UK. The difference between these experiences and my current role may seem vast. However, my work has always been focused on people, operations and strategy, and I am delighted that these are all very much at the heart of my role at Dystonia UK.

As Director of Operations and Development I oversee our membership, community support and information services, research and policy work, as well as building our network of medical and pharmaceutical partnerships. I also manage our internal operations and establish our development strategy.

In my spare time I am either paint brush in hand renovating my West London home or lead in hand spending time outdoors with my dog, Mochi, a rescue from Thailand. I also enjoy running and particularly love the exploring the canals on my doorstep. I come from a family of five, with British and Swiss heritage, though am sorry to say I cannot do much more than order a meal in either French or German! I do though study British Sign Language and hope to one day qualify as an interpreter. I am also very proud to be a volunteer Trustee for The Neurological Alliance.

I love operational roles that can have a positive impact on the lives of individuals. I am motivated and committed to making a real difference for the dystonia community and grateful to have a role that I find so incredibly rewarding.
