Why should I join Team Dystonia UK as a member?

Ultimately you should join us if, like us, you think Dystonia Matters.

Our members join for a whole host of reasons including:

How much does membership cost?

£2 a month - Individual Membership

£1 a month - Individual Concession Membership

(A membership subscription lasts for 12 months.)

Am I eligible for concession membership?

The concession price is a reduced fee designed for those on low income, benefits, or pension. However, it is at your discretion which rate you would prefer to pay.

What happens when I join Team Dystonia UK as a member?

When you join you will receive a member’s pack that includes a welcome letter with your Dystonia UK membership number and the latest hard copy of our 'Dystonia Matters' magazine.

As a member you also receive:

  • 10% discount on merchandise
  • 3 editions per year of our magazine 'Dystonia Matters' (each edition worth £4.99)
  • exclusive notice of Dystonia UK events and activities

How do I know if my membership subscription is due for renewal?

If you have set up a direct debit or standing order your membership will automatically renew.

If you opted to pay a one-off payment online or by post it is due annually. We will send you reminders via your preferred method of communication when it is due.

If you pay by direct debit you can get in touch with us or your bank at any point to increase or decrease your direct debit.

I would like to cancel my membership subscription; how do I do this?

We are sorry to see you leave, please get in touch if you would like to cancel your membership. It is important that even if you cancel your payments you let us know so we can update your records accordingly.

You can also update your communication preferences at any time.

How do I make a donation?

Thank you for supporting our work!

You can either head to our donation page or send a cheque or cash, made payable to Dystonia UK, into our office (Dystonia UK, 3rd Floor, 89 Albert Embankment, London, SE1 7TP). Please include a note with your name and contact details so we know who to thank.

How do I pay in money I have raised through a fundraising event?

Thank you for supporting Dystonia UK!

If you have set up your own fundraising page using an online platform, that people can donate directly to, the funds raised are automatically transferred to us so you don't need to do a thing!

Otherwise there are two simple ways to pay in your fundraising money:

  • Bank transfers can be made using the details:

    Account Name: The Dystonia Society
    Sort Code: 40-52-40
    Account Number: 00003759

    (Please email [email protected] to confirm your contact details, the amount transferred and information about your event.)

  • Cheques made payable to Dystonia UK can be sent to:

    3rd Floor, 89 Albert Embankment,
    London, SE1 7TP

    (Please include a note with your name, contact details and information about your event.)
