Lauren and Ella took on the London Marathon for Team Dystonia UK!

On Sunday 2nd October two amazing runners took on the world famous London Marathon raising an incredible £6087. The course was 26.2 miles long, travelling all over London and past some incredible landmarks.

What started off as a very cold and grey morning turned into glorious sunshine just as the event kicked off. Our fundraising team was set up by 8 am, ready to cheer on our fabulous runners at mile 3. We had the best opportunity to warm up by cheering on all of the inspirational wheelchair racers, followed by the elite runners!

The atmosphere was electric and the crowds were wild supporting every runner! It was great to get some of the public joining our cheer squad, becoming our best cheerleaders and awareness raisers ever!

We were so proud to see Lauren and Ella run past, both with a massive smile on their faces. Each of them dedicated themselves to their training, putting in the miles and most importantly the fundraising!

We wanted to give a massive shout out to two of our runners who could not take part on the day, Emma and Q. Both had to pull out at the last minute due to injuries, we know how devastating this would have been but to us they are still winners and absolute champions. We can’t wait to cheer them on at their next race where we are sure they will come back stronger than ever!

If you would like to take on a challenge for Dystonia UK or already have a space let us know! We love to hear all about your fun and quirky fundraising ideas and would love to support you!
