On Saturday 12th May the Berkshire Dystonia Society Support Group held a Tea Dance during Awareness Week raising funds and awareness for dystonia. The event was also extra special as it was a celebration of Carol Powell who is stepping down as group coordinator after running the Berkshire Group for 10 years!

Andy Young, Vice Chair of Trustees, who was at the event had this to say "The Dystonia Tea Dance was a huge success with 70 guests entertained by Molly and Alan Denton in a fitting tribute to Carol Powell’s 10 years running the Berkshire Group of the Dystonia Society. A choir and finishing session from Sue Chalmers also welcomed in Mandy Young who now takes over the Reading based group as well as highlighting the charity in its awareness week. I am Vice Chair in the charity board and one very proud husband to the new local group leader."

The Carers Choir from Swindon Carers Centre performed at the event. Carol sings in the choir and wrote a special dystonia awareness song for the choir to sing.

Thank you to Carol for her long service volunteering for The Dystonia Society and running the Berkshire Group.
