About the group

Three groups came together in 2011 to work cooperatively as one group: London Central (set up 1988); London South West (set up 1996) and Surrey (set up 2004/5).

The group meets 3/4 times a year to give members an opportunity to get together to hear a speaker and for support. Refreshments are provided and there is time for a chat and a raffle. Refreshments are provided by volunteers and a small charge is made that helps to cover the cost of the venue.

This group has a number of volunteers who form the committee and include a treasurer, chairperson and secretary. The committee organises and runs the group meetings. There are additional helpers who help with taking donations at the door, helping with the raffle and fundraising. A further helper ensures there are leaflets at the hospital.

The group also meets for additional social events such as a visit to Kew Gardens and Christmas lunch. This group usually has between 25 and 35 people that attend the meetings.

All group meetings are postponed until further notice due to COVID-19, however we would like to invite you to take this opportunity to join our virtual groups on Facebook and to reach out to people near you that you may not have met through your normal group meetings.
