About the group

This group started in 1988 and meets to give members an opportunity to hear a speaker, have a coffee and chat and get up to date on any news and find out about future events. Refreshments are offered. They have a raffle. The group meets 3 times a year for regular meetings and meets for other events and activities throughout the year.

The group has a core of volunteers who organise and run the group meetings. Other members assist with refreshments, running the “bring and buy” and so on. The group meets in a hospital and there is no charge for the venue, but a charge of £1 is made to cover refreshment costs. The group usually has between 15 and 20 people that attend the meetings.

The group meets for an extremely popular “pot luck” lunch at Christmas where members enjoy having time to just “catch up” and bring some finger food to share. New attendees are always welcome as are family and friends of those affected by dystonia.

All group meetings are postponed until further notice due to COVID-19, however we would like to invite you to take this opportunity to join our virtual groups on Facebook and to reach out to people near you that you may not have met through your normal group meetings.
