This Conference for Parents and Carers of Children with Dystonia will be opened by our new Patron Tully Kearney, Paralympic Swimmer whose motto is ‘Life … Be In It’

This event aims to increase your understanding of your child’s dystonia and ways of coping with the condition through specialist speakers and will be a chance for you to meet other parents and carers to share experiences.

Venue: The event will be held at Resource for London located near Holloway Road and Upper Holloway Stations. 

Time: 10.00 a.m till 4.30 p.m (registration at 9.30 am)

Lunch: Will be provided

Speakers: Dr Jean-Pierre Lin, Consultant Paediatric Neurologist at Evelina Children’s Hospital, London

Hortensia Gimeno, Research and Clinical OT at Evelina Children’s Hospital, London

Dr Charlie Fairhurst, Head of Paediatric Neurosciences, Evelina Children’s Hospital, London

Dr Manju Kurian, Academic Paediatric Neurologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital Institute of Child Health and UCL who specialises in Neurogenetics, neurotransmitter diseases and movement disorders

We will also have presentations from two young people with dystonia and their parents.

There will be a market place of organisations which parents and carers may find useful as a resource.

There will be a children’s room where specialist carers will be offering support to children affected by dystonia so that their parents can attend the conference plus fun activities for children and young people attending.
