TEA ON THE TERRACE
June 2008
Around 100 guests, including fundraisers, corporate and trusts sponsors, together with leading medical experts, were invited by our Patron, Lord Macdonald of Tradeston, to a splendid tea on the terrace of the House of Lords during awareness week. Lord Macdonald told the gathering: “A priority here in Parliament is to raise awareness of dystonia as a movement disorder that can take many forms. We are therefore very glad to have so many medical experts joining us today.
Much complex research and direct help is funded by the individuals and organisations who are our honoured guests.
Some of their fundraising has been heroic and we are hugely grateful for such generous support. In particular I salute the young people here who are coping with dystonia and to whom the medical research we help fund might be so important. Your spirit is an inspiration to us all."
