PLEASE SUPPORT OUR INTREPID TEAM DYSTONIA!
7 February 2007A six-strong Team Dystonia, led by our Chairman, Martin Cross, is preparing for the challenge of climbing the three highest peaks in Yorkshire this May to raise funds for The Dystonia Society. And we're asking for your generous support to help our foot-sore stalwarts on their way.
Martin (pictured), who celebrates his 59th birthday during the walk, encourages members to donate as much as they are able to help sponsor our bid in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, which will involve participants climbing Penyghent (2277ft), Whernside (2414ft) and Ingleborough (2372 ft). They will cover approximately 23 to 25 miles with a total ascent of 5486ft within 8 to 14 hours.
"It would make the task all the more heartening if we had the support of our members," said Martin. "Every penny raised will go to The Dystonia Society as we are covering the costs ourselves. It's a big undertaking but we are quietly confident", he added. "I've been working in the gym and walking in the New Forest to prepare for the challenge."
Team Dystonia comprises: Martin Cross, chief executive Philip Eckstein, Jamie McNulty, who works on the helpline, Frank Kelly, together with Simon and Anthony Campbell.
