Here’s some of the highlights of what happened during the week:

Dystonia on the TV and Radio

It was wonderful to see and hear awareness of dystonia being raised on both the TV and radio during the week, and in so many languages too! English, Welsh and Scottish Gaelic.

  • Dorothy Chisholm, our Scottish Regional Officer, spoke to BBC Radio Scotland twice! Once just beforeAwareness Week on The Kaye Adams Programme which was related to focal hand dystonia and Martin Gillespie. Then during Awareness Week Dorothy was joined by Stuart Cassells of the Red Hot Chilli Pipers and John Inglis on The Stephen Jardine Programme.
  • Ann Pierce-Jones and John Meredith appeared on the Welsh language news programme Newyddion 9
  • DK MacPhee was interviewed by BBC Radio nan Gàidheal.
  • Susan Hutchinson, East Yorkshire Group Coordinator, and Vanessa Richards raised awareness of dystonia and the local group at Beverley FM.
  • Janet Hillier spoke about dystonia and her personal experience of dystonia on Swindon Community Radio, Swindon 105.5
