PINNACLE OF SUCCESS
A six-strong Team Dystonia, led by chairman, Martin Cross (who celebrated his 59th birthday during the weekend) climbed the three highest peaks in Yorkshire in May to raise over £4,000 for the Dystonia Society. One of our foot-sore stalwarts, Frank Kelly, raised nearly £430 towards that total, from the generosity of workmates, family and friends. It had special significance as Frank’s lifelong pal, Bill Garner, who originally planned to walk on the ‘Three Peaks Challenge’, tragically died from cancer at the end of May.
Frank, who presented the donation to Bill’s wife Val (pictured), a leading light in our Manchester support group, said: “Unfortunately, Bill couldn’t be there in person but I felt he was with me every step of the way.”
You can read more about the Challenge on our Team Dystonia page - in a blog from Dystonia Society chairman Martin Cross!
